The Two-Headed Giant

 

 Did you ever know that the mummy of a 3.66 meter tall, two-headed giant still in this world is in good condition?

 Who is this Kap Dwa?

 At first glance, the name Kap Dwa literally means "two-headed" in Malay.  But the special thing is that these Malay people are not the people who lived in South America where this giant was found.  Malay is a group of Austronesians found in present-day Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.

 Okay, let's turn to the giant,

 As for his legend, it starts with finding him.  Kap Dwa was discovered by Spanish sailors in the 17th century.  This finding, or more accurately, "two myths about capture can be seen.

 According to the first of these, the Spanish sailors discovered Kap Dwa in AD.  1673 on the coast of Patagonia.  Here they capture Kap dwa alive.  They take the giant to their ship and tie it to the stern of the ship.  The Kap dwa sailors who are freed from there, however, begin to attack.  After the death of four sailors, the giant dies in a heart-pounding revelation.  This giant embalmed body was later taken to England in the 19th century and later to the United States.  In America, this stops at circuses.  This body becomes one of the most famous and amazing things that were shown in circuses at that time.

 According to the second story, the natives of Paraguay find Kap dwa on the beach with a hole in his chest.  Later, the natives mummified themselves according to their religious rites and began to pay homage to this body.  Some time later, John Bickle, the captain of a British sailing ship, heard about this story and stole this giant body from Paraguay and brought it to England.

 However, the end of both stories is the same.  Kap dwa's body eventually ends up in a circus.

 Will this giant really exist then, and is this story true?

 You may have had that question by now.  It is a serious issue on both sides.  Some believe that this giant body is a lie and some believe it to be true.  There are a few things that can be explained to some extent about this.  Let's look at that a little bit.

 The Legend of the Patagonian Giants

 The legend of the Patagonian giants revolves around Ferdinand Magellan, the captain who first toured the world.

 During his voyage, Magellan anchored his ships off the coast of South America and sailed into the mainland to explore the interior of the country.  Legend has it that here Magellan meets people twice as tall as the average man.  These are the Patagonian giants.  However, some say that the sailors who saw the natives generally taller than the Europeans, later talked about it in exaggeration and created this story.  But Europe has long believed Patagonia to be a land of giants.

 So according to one view Kap dwa is descended from these Patagonian giants.

 💀Scientific explanations

 The scientific explanation for Kap Dwa is that he is a man with two rare syndromes, Giant disorder and Dicephalic Parapagus.

 Simply put, Giant disorder is characterized by abnormal height and height.  These are the tallest people in the world.  Robert Wadlow (1918 - 1940), considered the tallest man in world history, grew up until his death at the age of 22.  At the time of his death he was said to be 2.47 meters tall.

 Dicephalic Parapagus is the birth of twins with two heads as a single body.  Take, for example, sisters Abby and Brittany Hensel, who were born in 1990 and still live in Minnesota.

 But in both cases life is very difficult.  People with Giant Disorder die quickly due to the increasing number of diseases that occur when they grow up.  Also, with Dicephalic Parapagus, it is very difficult for a child to get through infancy.  In order to live that way, each person has to have separate organs, such as the heart, kidneys, and liver.

 So if Kap Dwa is considered to be a person suffering from both these syndromes, it has to be considered that he has grown up healthy and energetic.  That's quite a rarity.

 However, doctors who examined the body around 1990 have stated that this is not a lie.  But this body has not been subjected to a more complex examination.  So there are still many people who believe that Kap Dwa is a lie created by circus performers.

 Today the body is preserved in a museum in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
